Getting started

Create your account and start podcasting in seconds.

  1. Click Sign up in the top right corner and fill in your email, username and password.
  2. Once registered, you'll have your own podcast page at prestocast.com/your_username.
  3. Go to Settings to customize your podcast title, description and cover image.
You can also create an account via Telegram or WhatsApp. To log in on the web afterwards, set a password with /password in the bot.

Publishing episodes

Record or upload audio to create new podcast episodes.

  1. Click your avatar in the top right and select New episode, or go to /record.
  2. Record using your microphone or drag & drop an audio file.
  3. Click Publish. Your episode will be live in your RSS feed immediately.
Supported formats: MP3, M4A, OGG, WAV. Maximum duration: 60 seconds.

Managing episodes

On your podcast page, click the menu on any episode to access these actions:

  • Edit title — Change the episode title
  • Description — Add or edit the episode description
  • Episode artwork — Upload a cover image for this episode
  • Replace audio — Upload a new audio file
  • Location — Set the recording location
  • Delete — Permanently remove the episode

Podcast settings

Go to Settings (top right menu) to configure your podcast:

  • Podcast title — The name of your podcast
  • Description — What your podcast is about
  • Cover image — Square image, at least 1400×1400px
  • Profile photo — Your avatar shown next to your podcast
  • Display name — Your public name (different from username)
  • Category — iTunes category for podcast directories
  • Podcast type — Episodic (independent episodes) or Serial (listen in order)
  • Email — Owner email for your RSS feed
  • Explicit content — Mark podcast or individual episodes as explicit
  • Support link — Link to your donation page (Ko-fi, Patreon, etc.)
  • License — Creative Commons license for your content
  • Location — Where your podcast is recorded or what place it's about. Choose creator (recorded here) or subject (about this place)
  • Trailer — Upload a podcast trailer
  • Recommended podcasts — Recommend other PrestoCast podcasts
  • Apple Podcasts URL — Link to your podcast on Apple Podcasts
  • Spotify URL — Link to your podcast on Spotify
  • Pocket Casts URL — Link to your podcast on Pocket Casts

Episode pages

Each episode has its own page with a unique URL that you can share anywhere.

  1. The URL format is prestocast.com/your_username/3 (e.g. prestocast.com/alice/3).
  2. Episode pages include the audio player, description, transcript (if available), location map, and comments.
  3. These pages have Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, so they show a rich preview when shared on social media.

Comments

Listeners can leave comments on any episode.

  1. Go to any episode page at prestocast.com/{username}/{episode_number}.
  2. Log in to your PrestoCast account.
  3. Write your comment and click Send.
  4. Or click the microphone icon 🎤 to record a voice comment (max 30 seconds). It will be auto-transcribed.
You can also comment via the Telegram or WhatsApp bots using /com (text) or /say (voice).

Saved episodes

Bookmark episodes to listen later.

  1. Click the icon on any episode to save it.
  2. On the homepage, switch to the Saved tab to see all your bookmarked episodes.
You can also save episodes from Telegram or WhatsApp with /save username episode_number.

Download statistics

Track your podcast's download numbers with detailed analytics.

  1. Log in and go to Stats in the top menu, or visit /stats.
  2. You'll see monthly downloads, weekly trends, a per-episode breakdown, and your top listening apps.
Stats are powered by OP3 (Open Podcast Prefix Project), an open-source podcast analytics service.

Embed / oEmbed

Episode pages can be embedded on other websites.

  1. Copy the episode URL (e.g. prestocast.com/alice/3).
  2. Paste it into any platform that supports oEmbed (WordPress, Notion, etc.). A player widget will appear automatically.
PrestoCast supports the oEmbed standard, so no manual embed code is needed. Just paste the URL.

Explore

Browse all podcasters on the platform.

  1. Go to /explore or click Explore in the sidebar.
  2. You'll see a directory of all podcasters who have published at least one episode.

Social features

Follow other podcasters and build your private playlist.

  1. Visit any podcaster's page and click Follow.
  2. On the homepage, switch to the Following tab to see episodes from podcasters you follow.
  3. In Settings, copy your Private playlist URL and add it to your podcatcher to listen to all your follows in one feed.

RSS feed

Your podcast has a standard RSS feed that works with any podcatcher.

Your feed URL is prestocast.com/your_username/feed. Share it or submit it to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts, or any other podcast app.

Link accounts

If you have separate accounts on different platforms (Web, Telegram, WhatsApp), you can merge them into one.

  1. Go to Settings and look for the platform buttons (Telegram, WhatsApp).
  2. Click the gray button of the platform you want to link.
  3. Enter the identifier of the other account and a verification code will be sent to it.
  4. Enter the code and confirm the merge. All episodes will be unified under your current account.
Merging accounts is irreversible. The other account will cease to exist and all its episodes will be transferred to your current account.

Redirect your feed

If you decide to move to another podcasting platform, you can redirect your feed so your subscribers follow you automatically.

  1. Go to SettingsPodcast tab → at the bottom you'll find Redirect feed.
  2. Enter the URL of your new feed (provided by your new platform).
  3. Save. From that moment on, your feed will return a permanent 301 redirect to the new feed.
Once activated, your PrestoCast episodes will no longer appear in your feed. Podcatchers will redirect subscribers to the new feed. You can revert it by removing the redirect URL.

Getting started

  1. Search for @PrestoCastBot on Telegram or click here.
  2. Send /start. A podcast is created automatically with a generated username.
  3. Start sending voice notes to publish episodes!

Just send a voice note to the bot. It will be converted and published as a new episode in your podcast. Maximum duration: 60 seconds.

You can also send audio files (MP3, M4A, OGG). The bot will process them the same way.

Inline mode

Share podcast episodes directly in any Telegram chat without leaving the conversation.

  1. Type @PrestoCastBot username in any chat to search for a podcast.
  2. Select an episode from the results to share it with a mini player card.
You can also type @PrestoCastBot username N to share a specific episode number.

Listen before sending

Telegram lets you review your voice message before sending it. This way you can re-record if you're not happy with the result.

  1. Hold the microphone button and slide up to lock the recording.
  2. Tap the pause button to stop recording.
  3. Tap the play button to listen to your recording.
  4. If you like it, tap send. If not, tap the trash icon to delete it and try again.
This is especially useful for podcast episodes — listen to make sure you're happy with the audio before publishing.

Schedule episodes

You can schedule voice messages to be sent at a specific date and time. The episode will be published automatically when the scheduled time arrives.

  1. Record your voice message as usual.
  2. Instead of tapping send, long-press the send button and select "Schedule Message".
  3. Choose the date and time, then confirm.
Scheduled messages appear in the chat with a clock icon. You can tap on them to reschedule or send immediately.

Link accounts

If you also have a PrestoCast account on the web or WhatsApp, you can merge them from Settings on the web.

  1. Log in at prestocast.com with your web account.
  2. Go to Settings and click the gray Telegram button.
  3. Enter your Telegram username, verify the code sent to the bot, and confirm the merge.
Merging is irreversible. All episodes will be unified and the other account will cease to exist.

Redirect your feed

If you're moving to another platform, you can redirect your feed so your subscribers follow you automatically.

  1. Send /feed-redirect https://your-new-feed.com/feed.xml
  2. To remove it: /feed-redirect delete

Getting started

Start podcasting directly from WhatsApp.

  1. Save the PrestoCast number and send any message.
  2. Your podcast is created automatically. Your username is generated from your WhatsApp profile name.
  3. Start sending voice notes to publish episodes!
Your phone number is never used as username or shown publicly. Privacy first.

Publishing episodes

Send a voice note to PrestoCast on WhatsApp. It will be converted and published as a new episode. Maximum duration: 60 seconds.

After publishing, you'll see interactive buttons to quickly edit the title, add cover art, or delete the episode.

Interactive menu

WhatsApp has a visual interactive menu. Send menu or any unrecognized text to open it. The menu has three sections:

  • Episodes — List episodes, publish, manage titles and covers
  • Podcast Settings — Name, description, cover, category, location, feed URL
  • Social — Follow/unfollow, followers list, listener feed

Reply buttons

After publishing an episode, you'll see quick-action buttons to manage it immediately:

  • Title — Set a title for the episode
  • Cover — Send a photo to use as episode artwork
  • Delete — Remove the episode

Differences from Telegram

WhatsApp has some unique features compared to Telegram:

  • Interactive menu — Visual list picker for browsing actions, instead of typing commands
  • Reply buttons — After publishing, quick-action buttons appear (title, cover, delete)
  • Native location — Share your location using WhatsApp's built-in location picker
  • No inline mode — Telegram's inline sharing (@bot username) is not available on WhatsApp
